Biography

Longtime friends Andy Lentz (fiddle, vocals) and Danny Chaves (guitar, banjo, vocals) have been collaborators since 2003, when they met at UC Davis and played in a number of projects together, including the Mad Cow String Band. After moving to Austin, TX, to pursue a career in music, Andy met Emily Triplett Lentz (bass, vocals). The couple married and relocated to the Bay Area, where together with Danny, they formed a fresh new trio: The Lifted Spirits. The group blends originals with traditional Americana, ranging from western swing to bluegrass and folk. Their steadfast harmonies and lighthearted energy truly lift listeners’ spirits whenever they play.

The Lifted Spirits are available to play weddings, entertain guests at your private party, or add flavor to your corporate event. We are right at home playing in honky-tonks, bars, and restaurants, and we would love to jam at your winery, brewery, or music festival!
