My first show of the new year was with Rita Hosking and Cousin Jack at the Palms Playhouse in Winters back on January 7th. We played to a sold-out crowd and had a blast! Rita has been cranking out songs for her next album and has started introducing the new material to the band. We debuted a couple at the Palms and will undoubtedly include them on our set lists at our upcoming shows. 

In the spirit of new things for the new year, I just joined a new project with my friends Cooper McBean (of The Devil Makes Three) and Eric Redpath thats taking a very cool direction. Im getting to stretch out into more of a rocking out space that is fun and refreshing and burns more calories (much like ice water). I also found that my new 5-string fiddle fits into this group perfectly! Low notes win! 

The West Nile Ramblers are working on doing some recording and will be playing at Cafe du Nord on February 17th for the San Francisco Bluegrass and Old Time Festival. Our good friend Danny Chaves will be playing bass that night for both us and his fantastic western swing band, Lady A and The Heel Draggers
